Transportation

Students who are enrolled in their school of residence and are currently assigned transportation will automatically be assigned a bus for the upcoming school year.  If you currently have transportation and do not intend to ride the bus, please email busquestions@district279.org as Every Seat Counts while we experience continued bus driver shortages. 

• An email will be sent out in late spring to families who are currently utilizing transportation to communicate bus information for the upcoming school year.
• Families new to the district and kindergarten students who are eligible for transportation will automatically be assigned a bus for the upcoming school year.
• Preliminary bus information will be sent out in late July.
• Final bus information will be sent out 1 week prior to the first day of school.
• Families who complete enrollment after the school year begins should expect to be assigned a bus in 5 days.  An email will be sent with bus information and ParentVue will be updated the next business day. 

Students who are open enrolled in non-magnet programs and are currently assigned transportation will be emailed an open enrolled transportation form in late April to request transportation for the upcoming school year.  Families can also request an open enrollment transportation form after May 15^th for the upcoming school year by emailing busquestions@district279.org.

• Transportation for open-enrolled students is NOT guaranteed.  Transportation is based on available bus capacity.
• Open enrolled transportation requests will be assigned in the order they are received. 
• Requests received by the first week of August will be eligible for transportation on 1^st day of school if bus capacity is available.
• Final bus information will be sent out 1 week prior to the start of school.
• Families who complete enrollment after the school year begins and request a form from busquestions@district279.org should expect to be contacted in 5 days.

Students who live inside Osseo Area Schools District Boundary and are currently assigned transportation will automatically be assigned a bus for the upcoming school year.  If you currently have transportation and do not intend to ride the bus, please email busquestions@district279.org as Every Seat Counts while we experience continued bus driver shortages. 

• An email will be sent out in late spring to families who are currently utilizing transportation to communicate bus information for the upcoming school year.

Students who live outside of the Osseo Area Schools District Boundary and within the approved Northwest Suburban Integration School Districts (NWSISD) and are currently assigned transportation, will automatically be assigned a bus for the upcoming school year through NWSISD.  If you currently have transportation and do not intend to ride the bus, please email transportation@nws.k12.mn.us to decline your transportation.  NWSISD’s transportation guidelines can be found at https://www.nws.k12.mn.us/transportation.html.

• Families will receive an email and postcard with final bus information 1 week prior to the first day of school.
