Why Choose Rush Creek Elementary

Rush Creek Elementary serves almost 750 Corcoran and Maple Grove students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Our warm and inviting atmosphere promotes strong relationships with students and families, and volunteers in our classrooms and at school events contribute more than 4,000 hours each year to support our scholars.

At Rusk Creek, we take pride in meeting the academic needs of all of our students. In addition to academic rigor, we build community through schoolwide celebrations including an All School BBQ, Spooky Bingo, School Carnival, Fun Run and Family STEM Night.

ENROLL NOW

Personalized support for scholars

More than three-quarters of our teachers hold master's degrees, and nearly all have more than three years of teaching experience. Our compassionate staff helps each student to perform at their highest potential, providing both gifted support and special needs services within our building. Thanks to individualized support, all students succeed and lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Beyond the classroom, students have additional personalized opportunities to learn and grow. In our Makerspace, students put their technology and engineering skills to the test, and scholars on the Library Advisory Group help to choose books and encourage other students to read.

Opportunities to explore

We offer a variety of activities to enrich the elementary experience for Rush Creek students, including:

  • Vocal music, band, and orchestra
  • Before-school Math Masters program
  • Student Council
  • D.A.R.E.
  • Destination Imagination
  • Art Adventure and Book Club

Safe and healthy school climate

To help all students reach high expectations, we teach our mascot Rocky's Way:

  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Personal Best

By all working together, we can make sure Rush Creek remains a positive and safe environment for every one of our scholars.

Environmental education

An 11-acre nature area adjoins our school property, complete with athletic fields and a butterfly garden. Through a partnership with the Three Rivers Park District, our students receive hands-on learning experiences in nature that tie directly to our science curriculum.
